The UFTAA 2008 General Assembly and Annual World Congress is the yearly congregation of the organization’s members attended by the officials, guests, staff and invited speakers of the various travel agents’ and tour operators associations from over 80 countries worldwide. The prestigious event consists of the Board Meeting, the Secretaries General Meeting, the General Assembly, and the Business Sessions aimed at resolving pertinent issues to improve the travel industry.
Besides the official gatherings and social functions that mark the congress schedule, city and shopping tours are being arranged for the participants as well as the customary day excursion set at the rustic ambience of Villa Escudero. It can be noted that the Philippines last hosted this important assembly in 1987.
Under the theme “Expanding Frontiers,” the co-organizers, composed of the Philippine Convention and Visitors Corporation (PCVC), an attached agency of the Department of Tourism, and the Philippine Travel Agencies Association (PTAA), are leaving no efforts spared in making the UFTAA 2008 Congress successful and enjoyable for all delegates and guests.
